The link from maxpoweruser is the way to go, but since it appears weirdly on GOG, here are the 3 methods you can use to skip the intros. 1. Modify the intro videos. Go to \base\video. Rename/delete/move loadvideo.bik. 2. Use +set com_skipintrovideos 1 command line argument. I first used the Ultimate Doom IWAD (bf0eaac0) and got a BFG Doom IWAD with a checksum of 61f10bf8, instead of 5efa677e as expected. Then I tried with the registered, non-Ultimate Doom IWAD (723e60f9), and got a BFG IWAD with a checksum of b00859ad, still invalid. For reference: DOOM.WAD checksums on the wiki. Thanks, I'll download the original version (been told BFG edition is not as good for various reasons) and the HD textures mod. I remember when Doom 3 was astonishingly good-looking, possibly the best-looking game ever, and nobody's PC could run it. Can't wait to see how it's held up :)
Nope sorry Doom 3 :BFG Edition is 3 in 1 game so if you want only Doom 1 & 2 you must also download and Doom 3 #1. Babouinator

The problem is, for the BFG edition's included Doom 1 and 2 there are no seperate executables. They are combined in to the Doom 3 executable. The D-Pad works, but no other button presses do. Doom 1 and 2 from "elsewhere" on their own work fine. (tested with Lutris) Installing it won't screw up the achievements for the base game, but as long as you play the mod, achievements can't be unlocked. That's also the case for any other mod.

You have to do it with the mouse but after that the controller will work. I'm using a PS4 controller running DS4win (with it set to "hide DS4"). If using a DS4 controller you have to click the check box to hide the DS4 controller and make it look like an Xbox controller. i can't figure out how to access it tho. i have Doom 3 installed and when i just checked, it was still Doom 3, no BFG edition. gonna poke around on Steam some more and see if i can download/install it. if anyone has any advice on how to use the BFG edition, i'm all ears. edit: Doom 3 BFG Edition popped up in my library. i played it, wasn't .
