Spoilers In the beginning of God of war II, kratos gets betrayed by Zeus and loses all of his godly power (and one would assume his status as a god along with it). God of War 3 – Poseidon. Just like Thanatos, Poseidon was there before Zeus took over the Olympian throne. In God of War 3, he took the form of a giant sea monster and made full use of his underwater abilities. It took Kratos the help of Gaia to even come close to beating Poseidon. In the same vein, the opening of God of War 3 has Kratos clinging to the back of Gaia as the titan army climbs its way up Mt.
